Welcome to the 50 States!
This is an interactive site where you can learn all about our fabulous United States of America. I am a huge believer in setting and reaching goals. I have 2 bucket lists - 1 to reach before I'm 50 and the other list to reach before I reach Heaven (the number ONE goal). One of my major goals is to go to all 50 states before I'm 50. Currently, I have been to 48 states! Come count how many states you've visited, and learn a little something about each state. Our country has everything you could ever want. Explore our land! 
State of the Month    ALABAMA

If you are going to live in Alabama, especially in Tuscaloosa, you only have to LOVE one thing:  FOOTBALL. Some restaurants around the USA have store hours during the summer and different hours for the winter. However, the restaurants and stores in Alabama have hours during football season and for the rest of the year! If you are driving around Tuscaloosa, your first question will probably be, "Who is Bear Bryant?" Not only does he have an entire stadium dedicated to his memory, but there's a Bear Bryant Conference Center, Bear Bryant Store, and anything else they can dedicate to this famous football coach.

While on a bus in Chatanooga, Tennessee, a woman on the bus found out we wanted the best BBQ in town. The woman said, "Well, I can tell you where the best local BBQ is in Chatanooga, but the best BBQ in the South is in Tuscaloosa, Alabama." It turns out we were headed there next! So, onto Dreamland in Tuscaloosa we go. Dreamland was in a residential area in the hills. Once we finally found it, the menu had ribs, ribs, ribs, or rib sandwiches which are basically ribs with white bread. We asked if there were any side dishes, but the blank looks meant that white bread came with the ribs. I have seen my husband eat a lot of ribs in one sitting, but I have never seen him so close to exploding. It was outstanding BBQ. I understand there are other satellite Dreamlands too in other areas of Alabama. We left with bottled sauces and a T-shirt for hubbie (a slightly larger size than the won he was wearing when he arrived at Dreamland). Football and BBQ ribs. Ah, Alabama...
